About LJRadio

Mission Statement

LJRadio is a designated non-profit 501(c3) charity designed to benefit students of La Jolla Public Schools by providing a web radio station. Students of all abilities and backgrounds will be encouraged to participate—writing and broadcasting their own content, learning how a radio station works, developing real world skills, taking an interest in their school, and building self- confidence.

The LJRadio studio is located at Muirlands Middle School. LJRadio  have an all-talk format. Every student is be invited to contribute and learn all facets of a radio station including broadcasting, programming, operations, advertising, and technology. Our principle aim is to foster students’ sense of self worth and accomplishment. Students will learn real world skills while working together on projects that have an immediate and positive impact on their community.  

Students will create and deliver the radio station’s content, including daily and weekly school updates, weekly community updates and various podcasts targeted for on-demand information and entertainment. LJRadio will promote its web radio station to the community of La Jolla which in turn will develop a market for our product of news and information.

Our 501(c)3 status

LJRadio  received it's non-profit designation in 2008 our Tax-ID number is 56-2567616.That means your donations are tax deductable!
