What is LJRadio.com and reasons to support it?

•    LJRadio is an innovative new concept as a web radio and now TV station that broadcasts from Muirlands Middle School.
•    It provides the students with authentic learning experiences in the field of broadcasting, marketing and journalism.
•    Students create content that is streamed from our website, www.LJRadio.com providing a “radio” experience when you visit our site.
•    Practical experience includes research, writing, voice and show preparation and production.
•    Students actually program the station providing podcasts on the LJRadio website.
•    The students receive leadership opportunities and hold the positions of station managers, program managers, promotion managers  and show producers.

Who listens to LJRadio.com?

•    Students in the classroom listen to LJRadio.
•    Parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles of our students and all of their friends listen to LJRadio.com.
•    LJRadio has been broadcasting for three years.  We are confident that our listeners will continue to increase as the year progresses.
•    Our daily bulletin podcast averages over 45 hits. Our website to date has had over 29,000 hits. 

How many students participate in LJRadio.com?

In our three years of operation we have worked with over 250 students. Currently there are about 50 students learning broadcasting skills in LJRadio. There are 11 students in the elective class, 35 in the lunch club, and 15 students in the after school club. There is no other practical experience like this for students in the San Diego school district and we look to you for your support in helping to develop future broadcasters, marketing professionals and journalists.

3. $500 Sponsorship Provides you with a 6 month LJRadio show sponsorship. This earns you the title of Media Baron!
•     An exclusive show specific sponsorship with opening and closing “brought to you by” billboard identifying you, your family or business as proud supporter.
•    Multiple opportunities available. One new show a week with your sponsorship. Shows are posted for 30 days on our website. Shows are repeated while we stream our podcasts during the week from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
•     You also will be listed as a donor on our LJRadio.com website with a link to your website for the entire school year. Your name will also appear on our studio window!

4. $1,000 Sponsorship Provides you with a one year LJRadio show sponsorship. This earns you the title of Media Tycoon!

•     An exclusive show specific sponsorship with opening and closing “brought to you by” billboard identifying you, your family or business as proud supporter.
•    Multiple opportunities available. One new show a week with your sponsorship. Shows are posted for 14 days on our website. Shows are repeated while we stream our podcasts during the week from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
•     You also will be listed as a donor on our LJRadio.com website with a link to your website for the entire school year. Your name will also appear in our studio window!

5. $5,000 Makes you the “Studio Naming Rights” Sponsor. This earns you the title of Media Magnate!
•     This is exclusive to one sponsor and creates an association as overriding sponsor of LJRadio.com. “From the Sylvan Learning Centers Studios” is heard at the top and bottom of each hour of programming every day throughout the school year. (Studio Naming Rights sponsor must have Board Approval)
•     You also will be listed as a donor on our LJRadio.com website with a link to your website for the entire school year.
•     Your logo will be displayed in our studios on a poster for the school year. Your name will also appear in our studio window!
