ABOUT OUR STATION MANAGERAndrew Shrader moved to San Diego from Modesto, CA in 2007 and graduated from San Diego State University in 2009 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Journalism Media Studies, Television, Film & New Media, and Rhetoric Writing Studies). While at SDSU, Shrader served as the General Manager and as a disc jockey for KCR, the student-run radio station. He also held the title of Media Relations Officer for the Journalism Media Studies Association and was a contributing writer for The Daily Aztec before taking over the duties at KCR. During his short stay in San Diego, Shrader has gained valuable, on-the-job work experience in the radio and television field. At the San Diego Union-Tribune, he served as a production assistant for the short-lived SignOn Radio program in Spring 2008. For Clear Channel’s XTRA Sports 1360-AM and KOGO 600-AM, Shrader served as a promotions/production assistant in Fall 2008. After brief stints with locally respected media outlets, Shrader landed a position as a production assistant at NBC San Diego 7/39 in January 2009. In August 2009, he officially took over the reigns as Station Manager and Teacher of LJRadio at Muirlands Middle School. In October 2009, Shrader landed his first on-air television job with NBC San Diego 7/39 as a field reporter and anchor on a weekly show called the “San Diego College Sportswrap”. Other than his passion for television and radio, Shrader values his family, folk music, history, and comedy.
